DIVORCE MEDIATION PROCESS
ESTABLISH THE FRAMEWORK
The parties and Attorney Mediator decide on the court filing, specialists, and next steps.
GATHER INFORMATION
The Attorney Mediator will direct the parties to collect the financial and other information necessary to commence a divorce action in the State of Wisconsin. The Attorney Mediator will begin the educational process and will also attempt to assure that both parties have an understanding of the divorce process and the issues presented in their particular case.
NEGOTIATE SETTLEMENT OPTIONS
The Attorney Mediator along with the parties will consider the family and financial interest and needs. The Attorney Mediator and the parties will discuss settlement options and the implications of those options on the final resolution of the divorce.
COMPLETION
After the parties reach an amicable agreement the Attorney Mediator will draft and file all of the required legal documents to finalize the divorce. The final agreement is subject to the approval of the Family Court Commissioner or Circuit Court Judge at the time of the final hearing.
